This Privacy Policy explains how Signal in the Box (“the App”) handles user data. Signal in the Box is an on-device reflective experience built as an independent art / research project.

Information We Collect

Signal in the Box does not collect, store, or transmit any personal information. Specifically:

  • We do not collect names, email addresses, or contact details.
  • We do not collect analytics, usage statistics, or device identifiers.
  • We do not track users across apps or websites.

On-Device Processing (Apple Intelligence)

If Signal in the Box uses Apple Intelligence features on your device, the model runs on-device only. The App does not send your prompts, sensor values, generated text, or any content to our servers, because we do not operate any servers for this App.

Sensors and Local Signals

The App may access device signals (such as motion/orientation, screen brightness, thermal/battery state, and ambient sound level) to influence the on-device monologue experience. These signals are used locally on your device and are not transmitted to us.

If the App requests system permissions (for example, microphone access), that permission is used only to compute local inputs for the experience. You can control permissions at any time in iOS Settings.

Generated Text, Logs, and Local Data

Any text generated by the App, along with any session logs or fragments carried between sessions, are stored locally on your device only. We do not have access to this content.

If the App includes export/share features, any sharing is initiated by you and handled through Apple’s standard share mechanisms. What you share, where you share it, and with whom you share it is your choice.

Third-Party Services

Signal in the Box does not integrate third-party analytics, advertising SDKs, or tracking libraries. The App does not communicate with external services except those required by the Apple operating system and App Store infrastructure.

Children’s Privacy

Signal in the Box does not collect personal information from any users, including children. If you believe that we have inadvertently collected personal information, please contact us so that we can address the issue.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. If we ever introduce data collection or online services, we will update this policy accordingly and, where required, request consent.
